as the whole family sat around the table, taylor decided to share a few of her jokes with us.
taylor: knock knock.
family: who's there?
taylor: cat.
family: cat who?
taylor: catsicle.
family: (blank stares)
then logan decided to try.
logan: knock knock.
family: who's there?
logan: kitty cat popsicle.
family: (giggles.)
taylor: kitty cat popsicles?!? that doesn't make any sense!
so taylor decided to try again.
jodi: the man said to the waitress...
taylor: the man said to the waitress.....oh yeah!...the man said to the waitress, this coffee tastes like dirt. mommy, i forget the rest.
jodi: and she said....
taylor: ...
jodi: that's because...
taylor: ...
jodi: it was just...
taylor: oh yeah! because it was just ground yesterday!
family: (laughs.) now that's one you can tell, that's a good one.
taylor: ehh, i don't think it makes sense.

there have been so many lost bloggable moments in the past week it hurts.
on friday night i reemerged into the scene with a vengeance and rocking and rolling never felt so good. yes, for one night, i pretended i was still cool enough to hang with the indie kids and traveled to kutztown to play with the combovers. i had a great time. i played accordion on two songs, ukulele on two songs, harmonica on one song, the pineapple shaker and llama toenails on one song, and sang some harmonies and i think that was it. i am truly honored to be asked to play with these guys, and lord knows i need some sort of creative release, so i am thankful. it was a fun time.
we woke up to snow, and while the roads were not yet clear and still a tad dangerous, everyone was a little bit giddy. i played bass and accordion at church and while it sounded like a loud disastrous mess from where i was sitting, it was still a worshipful time for me and i was thankful for that too. i hope others sensed the same thing.
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas.
